LTRVD0299 Lake Okeechobee

We had the opportunity to meet some of our listeners this week at the park craft sale. We met Lyle and Tracy and Charles and Christine Smith. We love our listeners! We had quite a bit of mail this week with lots of good questions and also much good information.

We took at trip around Lake Okeechobee earlier in the week and we discuss that. We discuss some new information about the Living the RV Dream Gathering along with the new email address of ltrvdgathering@yahoo.com to get a sign-up sheet. We also have a LTRVD Gathering Facebook group where we will post current information all about this upcoming event.

Kathy discusses a large list of businesses that provide senior discounts including food, grocery, transportation, department stores and more. You just have to ask. Then John has a Tip of the Week about keeping your RV plumbing from freezing during the current cold spell across much of the country. We also ask our listeners to email us about places RVers would want to see that is close by where they live. We will post these in a file on our Living the RV Dream Facebook Group.

Lake Okeechobee Trip

Well, it’s the new year and this is my first blog for this year (2015).

I’ve been thinking – what is a blog? Some give a blow by blow description of their day, where they went and even pictures of what they ate, some give advise and information, some give good and not so good opinions. Some are great fun to read and some are not. So I think when I write this blog well be a little of everything. So—here it goes.

We are at the Thousand Trails Peace River Preserve in Wachula, Fl. and the park is very busy. However, the sun is shining and it is warn and wonderful. Just sitting outside and talking with people passing by. There is a beading group, so I started beading again. Haven’t been doing much beading for a long time, but I do enjoy beading and having someone to bead with has gotten me back into the mood for beading again. So, on Mon., Weds. and Fri I will be beading for a couple of hours. I think it is just the fellowship that makes it so enjoyable.

On Tues. we drove down to Lake Okeechobee it;s the 2nd largest fresh water lake in the USA. There is not much to see as the is a berm all around the lake, but there are several places to stop and walk to the top and look at the water. ( you cannot see the across the lake). It was fun st to get out and do something with John. He is busy writing and researching and we need time together. While we were traveling we came up with some great ideas for the upcoming gathering. I will not tell you about them until another blog. I want to keep you wondering.

Anyway, just a thought- when I go to a search on Yahoo why do a half a dozen other sites come up first before the one I want? Do they pay? Do they have a friend at Yahoo? What’s Up? Do you Know?

By for now, Happy Camping

Kathy
